Pilots and Flying Small Aircraft
For ages humanity has looked to the birds in the sky and wondered what it would be like to fly. As flying small aircraft finally became a reality, it granted the long held wish for people to travel through the air. Pilots are the lucky ones who have the best bird’s eye view. Along with the joy of piloting a flying small aircraft, or any aircraft, there is a tremendous responsibility to maintain excellent judgment and safety.
About Pilots
The first recognized pilots are the Wright Brothers for their first take off in 1903. Since their landmark flight in a small aircraft at Kitty Hawk, the aviation industry began to form and it eventually soared to become a vital aspect in our modern infrastructure. Businesses, supply chains, postal services, tourism: they all depend on and are made possible by pilots.
Today, pilots can work in several industries: airlines, general aviation, or the military. Airlines have numerous aircrafts that run on tight schedules and they need reliable people to pilot them. The general aviation industry is involved with company planes and private aircrafts. Regardless of the job position, all pilots have a tremendous responsibility to fly carefully, bringing goods and people safely to their destination. To ensure that they are reliable, pilots are highly trained professionals. Flight schools help facilitate a pilot’s education. In the USA, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has special exams and other requirements pilots have to pass before they can earn their license to take off to the sky.
When considering a career, piloting is not at all typical. Due to the nature of the job, the working hours are long. Typically pilots can expect to work for several days straight and they may be away from home (and their family and friends) for weeks at a time. However, the profession is not without perks. These professionals get to travel all over the globe and see new places and meet all kinds of people. They can also feel proud to provide a service that benefits thousands of people and businesses, everyday.
